18-Mars : Soth Polin accuse Sihanouk

Dans un article du journal Angkor
Borei, Soth Polin a écrit entre autres : << J'ai beaucoup
de preuves de la fidélité du général Lon
Nol envers Samdech Sihanouk. Dans l'après-midi du 12 mars 1970
(au lendemain de la manifestation suivie du saccage des ambassades vietcong
et nord-vietnamienne), j'ai lu un télégramme confidentiel
du prince Sihanouk à sa mère, télégramme que
M. Soeur Chansath m'a apporté du ministère de l'Information.

Après l'avoir lu, je me sens aspiré par le sable mouvant
car Sihanouk a violemment condamné le gouvernement, l'Assemblée
nationale et en particulier les manifestants qu'il a qualifiés de
"patriotes assoiffés de dollars". (...) Pourtant, j'ai été
très bien informé que la "manifestation
chassant les Yuon" a été ordonnée par le prince lui-même,
trois mois auparavant. Depuis novembre 1969, j'ai su par les collaborateurs
du général Lon Nol (en particulier par M. Thong Lim Huong)
que "le patron (Sihanouk) a ordonné à
Monsieur (Lon Nol) d'organiser une manifestation pour 'chasser les Yuon'."
Quant au rétablissement des relations diplomatiques avec les États-Unis
pour bénéficier de l'aide en dollars, c'était aussi
le prince Sihanouk qui l'a planifié, et il a accusé Lon Nol
de l'avoir trahi pour des dollars ! Le 18 mars 1969 fut le jour
où Samdech Sihanouk a donné le feu vert aux Américains
de bombarder les Vietcongs au Cambodge. (...) Les 18 mars, que ce fussent
1969 ou 1970, c'étaient des jours choisis par Samdech Sihanouk et
non par M. Lon Nol. >>

Chinese logging company engaged in massive deforestation in Cambodia

Samngatki : According to the pro-CPP newspaper Rasmei
Kampuchea dated 5-6 June 2005 (article misleadingly titled:
“Provincial governor of Mondolkiri fraudulently signed a 86,894-hectare
land concession to a Chinese company in violation of land law procedures”),
Prime Minister Hun Sen on 5 August 2004 personally
approved two land concessions totaling 199,999 hectares
in Mondolkiri province (North-East of Cambodia) to a China-based company
named Wuzhishan LS Group, allowing the company to cut existing trees [of
various tropical species] in the forest-covered areas and [later on hopefully]
replace them with “pine trees”. The Chinese logging company has started
to exploit its concessions by effectively cutting trees, confiscating local
farmers’ lands and chasing the local inhabitants made up, in that region,
essentially of ethnic minorities.
Under the protection of some units of the “national” armed forces, the
company is terrorizing the local people and destroying their homes and
plantations. It is reportedly using herbicides and other chemicals that
have caused the poisoning of streams and ponds and resulted in numerous
cases of illness or death of humans and animals. Wuzhishan
LS Group is involved in massive deforestation in other parts
of Cambodia, including Kompong Chhnang and Pursat provinces, where it is
also violently clashing (especially in Pursat's Krakor district) with local
farmers in its joint operation with Pheapimex Group owned by Ms. Phou.
