Sakada, Voanews : CPP President Disagrees with his Vice-President - The president of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Heng Samrin [right photo] says Cambodia won't be in any chaos if Prime Minister Hun Sen [left photo] dies or resigns. On Tuesday Mr Hun Sen said the whole cabinet would be dissolved if he died or resigned. CPP's president says a deputy prime minister would become the acting prime minister until the parliament approves the new prime minister. However, Mr Heng Samrin says if there is a coup, then Cambodia could be in chaos. |
Une météorite aurait atterri au Cambodge (2005-Jan-26) Le 24 janvier à 7h du matin, des enfants jouaient près du village de Qauk Samrong, commune de Banteay Chhmar, district de Thmâ Pourk, province de Banteay Mean Chey. Ils ont entendu comme un projectile qui a atterri sans exploser et ont vu un feu. Accourus, des villageois ont découvert une pierre noire brûlante et un petit cratère de 30 cm de profondeur. La police a été alertée et un morceau de pierre de 4.5 kg [photo] est maintenant gardé par le commissaire, le général Sokh Saret, pour fin d'expertise. Mais les villageois, qui ont construit un autel à l'endroit de la chute, réclament le retour de la "météorite" pour en faire un objet de ... culte animiste. |

Retired Monarch angry with Hun Sen
Khmerintelligence.org : King-Father Norodom Sihanouk suddenly
left Cambodia for China on 24 January 2005 with an unusually short (24
hours) notice. He was reportedly very angry with Prime Minister Hun Sen,
who had harshly criticized him and his good friend
Ruom Ritt over the past few days.
Tensions within the CPP (2005-Jan-25)
K.I. : There are increasing tensions within the ruling Cambodian
People's Party, whose Central Committee is scheduled to meet on 28-29 January
2005. Vice-President Hun Sen wants the party to endorse his candidacy
for prime minister at the next general elections in 2008,
while the majority of the Standing Committee don't want to talk about that
issue yet and refuse to include it in the meeting's agenda.
